The Institute for Survivor's of Incest or Sexual Violence, Inc. is a not for profit agency promoting training programs for psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health counselors and clinical social workers in Dr. Connelly’s innovative, leading edge method of clearing trauma and facilitating desired change. The Institute was founded by Dr. Jon :Connelly, a pioneer in his field.

Jon Connelly, L.C.S.W., Ph.D.
Dr. Connelly is a licensed clinical social worker with a doctorate in clinical pastoral counseling.  He has more than thirty years of experience working with patients and training health and mental health professionals.  He is the author of Life Changing Conversations: The Power of Transformational Communication.  Thousands of mental health professionals have participated in his advanced clinical training programs. He has developed professional training films and authored numerous articles.  Dr. Connelly presented his work on treating survivors of sexual trauma to scientists and clinicians from around the world at the seventh annual international sexology conference in Paris, France.  He was the host of a popular radio program dealing with issues pertaining to psychology and personal growth.  Dr. Connelly is board certified in psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, sex therapy, chemical dependency and behavioral medicine.

Dr. Connelly is the director of the hypnotherapy and trauma resolution at the Palm Partners treatment center in Delray Beach Florida. He provided hypnotherapy and trauma resolution at Jupiter hospital’s Mind/Body Institute and became the director of their employee counseling program.   He taught college courses on group dynamics and human sexuality and was appointed to the clinical faculty of the the social work program at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Dr. Connelly was a consultant to the major crime bureau and the sex crime unit of the Suffolk County Police Dept. where his use of clinical hypnosis was credited with leading to the apprehension and conviction of a serial rapist, helping sex crime victims overcome trauma and supplying important leads in other major crime investigations.  He also created an innovative mental health program for police officers and members of their families.

He began his career as a child protective service caseworker where he worked with the family court to remove children from abusive situations.  He then became a clinical supervisor at a residential treatment program for teenagers.  Dr. Connelly supervised all of the counseling staff and created a powerful therapeutic atmosphere where these young people became transformational in each others lives.  He created an intensive family therapy program so that many of the young people could return to their homes and advocated for safe placements for those who could not.

Dr. Connelly’s work with children who had suffered emotional, physical and sexual trauma and other victims of sexual violence inspired his interest in developing a treatment approach that would work at the deepest levels of the mind and provide a transformational process to individuals who suffer from painful past events.  Now mental health professionals from around the world are able to learn to utilize Dr. Connelly’s Dynamic Hypnotherapy with Rapid Trauma resolution to provide treatment that is fast, painless and complete.
