Meet Dr. Jon Connelly, Ph.D., L.C.S.W.

Dr. Jon Connelly, Ph.D, L.C.S.W.
Dr. Connelly is a licensed clinical social worker with a doctorate in clinical pastoral counseling. Mental health professionals from around the world are learning to utilize Dr. Connelly’s Rapid Trauma Resolution to provide treatment that is fast, painless and complete. Thousands of mental health professionals have participated in his advanced clinical training programs.

He has more than thirty years experience working with patients and training mental health professionals.  He is the author of Life Changing Conversations: The Power of Transformational Communication and many articles and training films. Dr. Connelly presented his work on treating survivors of sexual trauma to scientists and clinicians from around the world at the seventh annual international sexology conference in Paris, France.  He was the host of a popular radio program dealing with issues pertaining to psychology.  Dr. Connelly is board certified in psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, sex therapy, chemical dependency and behavioral medicine.

Dr. Connelly was a consultant to the major crime bureau and the sex crime unit of the Suffolk County Police Dept. His work with crime victims was credited with obtaining information leading to the apprehension and conviction of a serial rapist. He assisted in other major crime investigations.

He began his career as a child protective service caseworker and worked to protect children from sexual violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect.  He then became a clinical supervisor at a residential treatment program for teenagers.  Dr. Connelly supervised all of the counseling staff and created a powerful therapeutic atmosphere where these young people became transformational in each others lives.  He created an intensive family therapy program so that many of the young people could return to their homes while advocating for safe placements for those who could not.

Dr. Connelly’s work with children who had suffered emotional, physical and sexual trauma and other victims of sexual violence inspired his interest in developing a treatment approach that would work at the deepest levels of the mind and provide a transformational process to individuals suffering from painful past events.
